Extract from Fiji to US Wichita, KS, February 17th, 2010 –Dr. Ted Anders, Ph. D, a professor at Newman University, has spent years with Fijian colleagues creating a dietary supplement extract created from Fijian Red Mangrove. The raw plants are converted to a USDA approved dietary supplement product in the United States for use in a product called Respigard™. Respigard™ is utilized to address colds, flu, and a wide range of acute and chronic respiratory challenges such as emphysema, COPD, and mild asthma. The product is now offered in packaging designated for adults, children (5 thru 12 years old), and pre-school children (9 months thru 4 years old). Mothers, corporate wellness coordinators, travelers, teachers, healthcare providers, and people experiencing acute or chronic respiratory challenges are encouraged to have Respigard™ on hand for use at first signs of discomfort. Respigard™ can be used on a daily basis as a preventative product, as well. Resina Koroi, a leading health and wellness advocate in Fiji, along with Dr. Anders, have brought a powerful, reliable, safe and traditional Fijian medicine to The United States as a USDA Dietary Supplement. Mrs. Koroi and Dr. Anders have spent several years organizing clinical observation studies here in the US, conducting efficacy surveys with hundreds of customers of all ages, and delivering an all-natural product which requires no preservatives or refrigeration. Clinical observations have been conducted with clients experiencing colds, chronic sinus infections and emphysema/COPD. The product was donated and used with a number of 911 First Responders who suffer a variety of respiratory challenges following contamination at Ground Zero World Trade Center site. The active ingredient, Fijian Red Mangrove (Rhizophora Mangle), known traditionally in Fiji as Fiji Titi® or Fiji Tiri, has been used on the islands and is recognized as safe for all ages. The traditional harvest and production methods are incorporated into the process employed by Nature’s Nurse. There are no known or documented negative side effects of using the plant when boiled as a “tea” or in the proprietary concentrated formulation offered by Nature’s Nurse, Inc. Dr. Scott Carroll, M.D., a senior partner of a large asthma and allergy clinic in Atlanta, conducted a study on the use of Fiji Tea™. Dr. Carroll found that over 79% of his patients who received the extract at the onset of their infection had complete resolution of their symptoms within 2 days….the common cold usually lasts 5-10 days. He is commencing the next phase of an extensive clinical observation of Respigard® with emphysema/COPD/asthma patients beginning immediately. “IT TAKES A VILLAGE” to harvest, bless, prepare and ship the pure wild crafted, organic plants from the pristine shorelines of The Fiji Islands. Hundreds of villagers participate in the harvests and use traditional sustainable methods to do so. Using traditional methods, the plants are pruned and this strengthens the mangrove tracts. The women’s edible “mud crab” industry, which relies on healthy mangrove systems as a crab habitat, is maintained and the nearby ocean fishing reefs are sustained because the healthy mangrove tracts on the shore ensure no silting of the fishing reefs occurs. The villagers who harvest are paid fairly, the environment and natural plant resources are sustained, and quality control processes are intact for all shipments of red mangrove from The Fiji Islands.
