Dr. Ted Anders, Ph. D Atlanta, GA, March 2nd, 2010 – Dr. Scott Carroll, M.D., a senior partner at The Atlanta Asthmaand Allergy Clinic, conducted a clinical study of Red Mangrove, the exclusive activeingredient in a new product called Respigard™, to validate traditional reports of its effect oncolds and sinus infections. The results are noted below. Dr. Carroll is now initiating a follow-on study of the efficacy of Respigard™ on emphysema, COPD, and asthma. Respigard™ is being utilized successfully by clients to address colds, flu, and a wide range of acute and chronic respiratory challenges such as emphysema, COPD, and mild asthma. In his 2005 study of Respigard™, Dr. Carroll found that over 79% of his patients who received the extract at the onset of their infection had complete resolution of their symptoms within 2 days—the common cold usually lasts 5-10 days. And importantly, he did not record any side effects of Respigard™ or any contra-indications with other prescription pharmaceuticals. Pharmaceutical companies are allowed to launch new drugs based on only a 40-50% improvement rate, so Dr. Carroll was very impressed with results of his study. It’s also interesting to note that 80% of upper respiratory infections are caused by a virus and do not respond to antibiotics. Even many of Dr. Carroll’s patients with repeated sinus infections experienced relief. Since 2005, dozens of Nature’s Nurse clients have chosen to use Respigard™ to address their chronic conditions of emphysema, COPD, and asthma—with consistently positive outcomes. Therefore, following a preliminary study conducted by Dr. Debao Ye at East West College of Natural Medicine in Sarasota, Florida, Dr. Carroll is launching a more comprehensive observational study in Atlanta. He will collaborate with several leading physicians in New York City who have been referring their patients to Nature’s Nurse to purchase Respigard™. Residents of Atlanta and New York City are encouraged to contact Dr. Scott Carroll at The Atlanta Allergy and Asthma Clinic to request being a member of the study group. Dr. Carroll is board certified in two specialties: pediatrics and allergy; as well as asthma andimmunology. As a practicing physician for over thirty-six years, he has become a strong proponent of a more natural approach to medicine. “My overall goal is to place less emphasis on the pharmaceutical approach to treating patients and using natural alternatives that will provide even better results and have fewer, if any, side effects at all,” Dr. Carroll says. Healthcare is costing The United States 2 trillion dollars a year, and we rank a dismal 45th in theworld for life expectancy. As much a 1/3 of the expenditures do nothing to improve health, thanks to completely unnecessary treatments and tests. Even though medications can be lifesaving, many are significantly over-prescribed and often result in sick people becoming sicker—or dying. Even when drugs are prescribed correctly, over one hundred thousand people per yeardie from side effects alone. It has become the fourth leading cause of death in this country. It is interesting to note that in the media drug ads, especially television, nearly one half of the commercial is devoted to possible side effects. “I think, as a society, it would be wise to change our reliance solely on treating symptoms with pharmaceuticals. To me it makes sense to treat underlying causes of the problem, rather than just treating symptoms. Many of our health costs can be reduced significantly by making better choices concerning diet, exercise and the use of more natural supplements as a means to prevent disease and maintain one’s health,” Dr. Carroll states. Dr. Ted Anders, Ph D, Co-Founder of Nature’s Nurse, met Dr. Carroll in 2003 at a seminar hewas conducting promoting Respigard. “I kept an open mind as I listened to this man reflect backon his search for a treatment for his youngest daughter, Natalie, who experienced repetitivenasal, sinus and ear infections that were not responding to traditional pharmaceutical medicines, ”Dr. Carroll said. Dr. Anders’ search ultimately lead him to the Fijian Island and Nature’s Nurse Co-Founder and native Fijian, Resina Koroi. Mrs. Koroi’s family harvests the exclusive extractof the Red Mangrove called “Titi” which has been used for centuries to help the body’snatural defenses fight colds and other respiratory challenges. The Respigard™ product is now offered in packaging designated for adults, children (5 thru 12years old), and pre-school children (9 months thru 4 years old). Mothers, corporate wellness coordinators, travelers, teachers, healthcare providers, and people experiencing acute or chronicrespiratory challenges are encouraged to have Respigard™ on hand for use at first signs of discomfort. Respigard™ can be used on a daily basis as a preventative product, as well. The product was donated and used with a number of 911 First Responders who suffer a varietyof respiratory challenges following contamination at Ground Zero World Trade Center site. The active ingredient, Red Mangrove (Rhizophora Mangle), known traditionally in Fiji as Fiji Titi® or Fiji Tiri, has been used on the islands and is recognized as safe for all ages. The traditional harvest and production methods are incorporated into the process employed byNature’s Nurse. There are no known or documented negative side effects of using the plantwhen boiled as a “tea” or in the proprietary concentrated formulation offered by Nature’s Nurse, Inc. “IT TAKES A VILLAGE” to harvest, bless, prepare and ship the pure wild crafted, organicplants from the pristine shorelines of The Fiji Islands. Hundreds of villagers participate in the harvests and use traditional sustainable methods to do so. This pruning of the plants strengthens the mangrove tracts. The villagers who harvest are paid fairly, the environment and natural plant resources are sustained, and quality control processes are intact for all shipments of redman grove from The Fiji Islands.
